Goodwin, Carol

Carol Goodwin, 73, of Burlington, died at 2:11 am Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.

Born October 14, 1939, she was the daughter of Earl and Ruth Percy Owens. She married Ervin Goodwin in Burlington, and they later divorced.

 

Carol spent most of her time raising her family and worked full-time as a housekeeper.

 

She was a graduate of Burlington High School. 

 

She began ballroom dancing after joining the Moose Lodge.  She loved dancing, going to yard sales, and collecting dolls, knick knacks and antiques.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

 

Survivors include two sons, Daniel (Lori) Goodwin of Burlington, and Ronald (Renee) Goodwin and Jason Junker of Burlington; three daughters, Kim (Jim) Hand, and Tracy (Chad) Martin, both of Burlington, and Wendy Goodwin (Rick Lock) of Oquawka, IL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry (Linda) Owens of Keithsburg, IL; one sister, Connie (Ronald) Peterson of Howell, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

 

As per Carol’s request cremation has been accorded.

 

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
