Born March 5, 1945, in Burlington, he was the son of Aubrey and Margaret “Peggy” Hutchcroft Daedlow. He married Wenda Lail Sullivan in Waterloo. From this union, one son, Darren Alan Daedlow was born. She preceded him in death. On November 30, 1974, he married Mary A. Curley in Mediapolis.
Dennis had worked at Jones Park & Co. as a CPA, First National Bank in Burlington as a trust officer, and then became Bank President of Farmers Savings Bank in Wever. He retired in March of 2010.
He was a graduate of Mediapolis High School and the University of Iowa where he received his Master’s Degree in Accounting.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of Burlington Golf Club, New Crystal Lake Club, where he served as secretary/treasurer, and Carthage Lake Club. He cherished his memories on the farm with his Grandpa Charlie. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed golfing. He had a hole-in-one on #3 at the Burlington Golf Club and witnessed his seven year old grandson hit a hole-in-one at Burlington Golf Club on #7. He loved reading, history, and spending time with friends at the Sombrero.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; one son, Darren Alan Daedlow of Mason City, IA; one daughter, Marianne Denise (Mike) Briggs of Burlington; two grandchildren, Matthew James Briggs, and Lauren Aubrey Briggs; his mother, Peggy Daedlow of Mediapolis; one brother, Alan Daedlow of Tipton, IA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his father and one sister.
Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, November 2, 2012 at Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mr. Daedlow will be 10:00 AM Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Debra L. Kinney officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the First Presbyterian Church in Burlington and the First Presbyterian Church in Mediapolis.
