November 8th Obituaries
Agnes Z. Holtkamp, 94, of Ft. Madison, IA, passed peacefully away in her sleep on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 8:15 a.m. at her home. She was born on July 5, 1918 in Fort Madison, IA to Herman & Catherine Wiggenjost Zumdome. She married Edward H. Holtkamp on September 9, 1941 at SacredHeartChurch in FortMadison. He preceded her in death on September 7, 1995. She worked for the Sheaffer Pen Company before marriage and after, she and her husband worked their farm & dairy together. She was a member of SacredHeartChurch, Catholic Ladies Auxiliary, Daughters of Isabella and was a founding member of Aquinas God’s Portion Day in 1975. She loved her family, her faith, cooking, gardening, dancing & baseball.
Agnes is survived by: 3-daughters: Joyce (Jack) Kirchner of Donnellson, IA, Janet (Ed) McKenney of Carthage, IL & Constance Hughes of Fort Madison, IA; 2-sons: Ronald (Deb) Holtkamp of Montrose, IA & Alvin Holtkamp of Fort Madison, IA; 10-grandchildren: Allan, Bruce & Bernie Holtkamp, Christy (Holtkamp) Schroeder, Jamie & Joe Kirchner, Joanie (Kirchner) Hawk, Nicole Holtkamp, Mikaela & Holt McKenney; 17-great grandchildren; 1-great great granddaughter; 2-sisters in law: Evelyn & Jeneale Zumdome of Fort Madison, IA and a number of nieces & nephews. She was the last of her family. She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, 1-son: Ralph, 2-grandsons: Adam & Justin Holtkamp, 2-daughters in law: Miriam (Menke) Holtkamp & Chris (Kempker) Holtkamp; 1-sister: Anna Moeller and 7-brothers: Joe, Louis, Aloys, Albert, Herman, Leo & Vincent.
Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2012 with a rosary to be recited at 3:00 p.m., the family will meet with friends from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. and a wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening all at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Mark P. Spring officiating. Burial will be held at SacredHeartCemetery. A memorial has been established and contributions may be left at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory or at the church the day of the service.
