Obituaries Saturday December 1st
Beatrice Pauline “Bea” Pence, 82 of Lomax, Illinois died at 9:05 p.m.Thursday November 29, 2012 in the OakLaneNursing & RehabCenter in Stronghurst. She was born May 22, 1930, in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Harold and Inez Neidy Roloff. On January 19, 1947, she married George Blackman in Monmouth. They later divorced. On September 28, 1968, she married Milford Pence in Monmouth.
Bea was a homemaker and had lived in Lomax since 1969. She had sold “Tupperware” from her home and loved gardening, and family gatherings. She avidly kept track of all family birthdays and never missed sending cards.
Survivors include her husband, Milford, three daughters- Shirley “Jo” Blackman and Carla Babcock, both of Monmouth, IL., Vickie Hardin of Bell Flower, CA., five sons- Charles “Rick” Blackman of Monmouth, IL., Chad Pence, Jimmy Pence and Timmy Pence, all of Lomax, IL., Johnny Pence of LaHarpe, IL., one goddaughter- Susie Oaks of Morton, IL., eighteen grandchildren, thirty two great grandchildren, four sisters- Patricia Crow of Paradise, CA., Janet Woodward of Bermuda Dune, CA., Cheryl Mohr of Whittlow Circle, AZ., Martha Simon of Fernley, NV., and one brother- Murray Schisler of Dalton, Georgia. She was preceded in death by two sons- Stevie Blackman and John Blackman, her mother and father, and her step father- Dale Schisler.
No immediate services or visitation are planned at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery near Raritan, IL. A memorial fund has been established for Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab in Stronghurst. Banks & Beals Funeral Home of Stronghurst is in charge of arrangements. Linda Kay Wilson, age 67, of Winfield, died Friday morning, November 30, 2012 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. The daughter of Lester B. and Charlotte Snyder Wilson, she was born on September 27, 1945 in Mt. Pleasant.
Linda lived at Hope Haven in Burlington for many years and moved to Sunrise Terrace in Winfield in 2008. She was a member of the Finley Chapel.
Her family includes a brother, Terry & Ann Wilson of Mt. Pleasant; a niece, Monica Kelley; and a great nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation has been selected and a burial will take place later at the Finley Cemetery.
Honts Funeral Home in Winfield is providing the care and assistance for the Linda Wilson family.

Survivors: She is survived by one son, Donald Gene (Linda) Avery of Burlington; one daughter, Ann Marie Remick (Kelly Fuhrer) of Burlington; six grandchildren; Kimberley, Carrie, Jason, Amber, Jamie, Zachary, seven great-grandchildren; Taylor, Avery, Mackenzie, Lexton, Jordan, Ashton, Bryan, Dakota, one brother, Roger B. Barnes Jr. of Ft. Meyers Beach, Florida; one niece; one nephew; and many cousins.
Funeral Services: Funeral services for Marilyn Jean Scott will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Prugh’s Chapel. Rev. Mike Orthel will officiate.
Interment: Interment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
Other arrangements: The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. in Prugh’s Chapel. A memorial has been established for First United Methodist Church Rebuilding Fund for Stain Glass Windows.
