Gary Wayne Workman, 64, of Ft.Madison, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at his home. He was born on January 28, 1948 in Keokuk, IA to Margaret Louise Workman and was raised by his mother and step father Roy Beaty. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, where he received a bronze star. He married Linda L. Smith on February 24, 1971 in Fort Madison, IA. He worked for the DuPont Corporation with 27 years of service. He loved to fish, bowl & play golf, euchre & pool. His greatest love was his grandchildren.
Gary is survived by: his wife: Linda Workman of Fort Madison, IA; 3-sons: Brett (Tammy) Workman, Marcus Workman & Brandon Workman all of Fort Madison, IA and 2-grandchildren: Brittany & Bryce Workman both of Fort Madison, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2012 with the family to receive friends from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 10, 2012 at Soldiers’ Circle in OaklandCemetery with Rev. John Simpson officiating. Burial will be held at Soldiers’ Circle with military rites performed by the Fort Madison Veterans Honor Guard. A memorial has been established for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Thomas Henry Boyles, 76 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 7:52 pmWednesday, December 5, 2012 at the FortMadisonCommunityHospital, Fort Madison, Iowa. He was born July 6, 1936 at Illinois, a son of Bernard and Hazel (Johnson) Boyles.
He was a life long resident of FortMadison. He was a FortMadisonHigh School graduate. For 30 years, he worked as a draftsman for the IAAP Ordinance Plant. He loved playing golf and taking pictures.
He is survived by his three brothers: James Boyles, of Mediapolis, Iowa, Boyd Boyles, of West Burlington, Iowa, Timothy Boyles, of Fort Madison, Iowa; one sister, Margaret Siegfried, of Omaha, Nebraska and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 amSaturday December 8, 2012 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, FortMadison. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 amSaturday, December 8, 2012 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Brenda Goodall officiating.
