Ethel Marie Barry, 78, of New London, died Thursday, January 24, 2013 at her home in New London.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 28, 2013 at Elliott Chapel, New London. Pastor Harold Schutte will officiate. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery, rural New London. Visitation will begin after noon on Sunday at the chapel with the family greeting friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A memorial has been established to Iowa Hospice.
Margaret “Maggie” McElhinney, 60, of Danville, died at 2:10 am Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the New London Nursing and Rehab in New London.
Born July 12, 1952, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Lewis and Opal Sherer Fisher. On July 23, 1971, she married Larry McElhinney in Burlington.
Maggie was a day care provider and homemaker.
She attended Burlington High School.
She was a member of the Danville Junior Women and Danville Jaycettes. She loved spending time with her day-care children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed walking outdoors, her trips to Branson, and her grandchildren’s school functions. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; two daughters, Tonia R. (Mick Smeltzer) McElhinney of Ames and Stacie D. (Brett Moravec) McElhinney of Danville; two grandchildren, Logan Hand and Averie Senn both of Danville; one brother, Butch Fisher of Burlington; one step-brother, George (Sue) Moehle; several nieces and nephews; Lisa Jacobs her child at heart and her children Natalie and Jeremy Jacobs, Shannon Heald her sister at heart, and her roommate Mary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step parents, father-in-law, and one sister-in-law, Debbie Fisher.
Visitation will be from noon until 5:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Maggie McElhinney will be 10:00 AM Monday, January 28, 2013, at Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Dutzer officiating. Burial will be in Jaggar Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Thielen Funeral Home following the burial.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Vanessa Marie Ives, 45 years, of St. Louis County, Mo. and formerly of Dallas City, Illinois, died on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at her home. She was born January 13, 1968, a daughter of Quinn and Nancy (Gilpin) Pence. She married Michael Ives and they had three sons. They later divorced.
She graduated from DallasCityHigh School, Dallas City, IL in 1986 and attended WesternIllinoisUniversity and obtained an elementary teaching degree. She and her family have resided in St. Louis, MO for the past 16 years. She currently was substitute teaching at various schools in the St. Louis area. She loved to sing and enjoyed singing on the praise and worship team at her church. She enjoyed her family and being a mother of three sons.
She is survived by her parents, Quinn and Nancy Pence, of Dallas City, Illinois; three sons: Grant, Evan and Drake Ives, of St. Louis, Missouri; a companion and friend, Abe Keil, of St. Louis, Missouri; three sisters: Twila (Jeff) Peitz of Fort Madison, Iowa, Gwen (Bill) Scanlan of Fort Madison, Iowa and Amy (John) Curran of Manchester, MO, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and one nephew.
Visitation at BAUMANN COLONIAL CHAPEL, 2504 Woodson Road, Overland, MO on Sunday, January 27 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Also, visitation at St. Paul’s Evangelical Free Church, 9801 Olive Boulevard, Creve Coeur, MO on Monday, January 28 from 10:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am.
A memorial service will be held locally at 2:00 pmSaturday February 2, 2013 at the PontoosucCommunityChurch, Pontoosuc, Illinois, with Reverend Aaron Ferguson officiating. A memorial has been established for her children’s college education, and contributions may be made at the Pontoosuc church on the day of the service or at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa. Ryan Kenneth Joseph Brown, 31 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at his home. He was born January 18, 1982 in Fort Madison, Iowa, a son of George Brown and Julie (Ilmberger) Brown.
Ryan was a 2000 graduate of FortMadisonHigh School and was known by his friends as “P-nut.” He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and member of The Moose. He enjoyed softball, frisbee golf, bowling, playing league pool, going out on the river boating and water skiing. He participated with the Man Country Sporting Events in Keokuk, Iowa. He always remembered family birthdays and enjoyed the family pets. One of his favorite days was St. Patrick’s Day. He had a big heart and was especially close to his nieces and nephew. He never knew a stranger and enjoyed spending time with his buddies.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Julie and Stephen Long, of Fort Madison, Iowa; his father, George Brown, of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; one brother, Kevin Long, of Fort Madison, Iowa; three sisters: Amanda Brown, of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; Michelle (husband Greg) McRoberts, of St. Charles, Missouri; and Nichole (husband Jess) Zinnert, of Keokuk, Iowa; grandparents: Celestine Ilmberger, of Fort Madison, Iowa and Sherrill and Larry Sallen, of Fort Madison, Iowa; great grandmother, Dorothy Rings, of Fort Madison, aunts, uncles, four nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Bernard Ilmberger and Laborn and Ruby Brown.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 pmSunday, January 27, 2013 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa. A funeral service will follow and start at 5:00 pm Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa, with Father Mark Spring officiating. Following the service his body will be cremated. A private family burial will be held at the OaklandCemetery, FortMadison at a later date.
