Janet Marie Sourwine, 92, of Burlington, died at Burlington Care Center, on Sunday, March 3, 2013.

Born on January 9, 1921 in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Leroy A. and Florence Brown Berquist. She married Oscar Charles Sourwine on October 18, 1947 in Burlington, Iowa. He died on December 12, 1972.

Janet was a homemaker. She loved cats and animals. She enjoyed playing bingo, solitaire and watching The Lawrence Welk Show. She was a member of the V.F.W., Eagles Club and Trinity Lutheran Church.

She is survived by one son, Charles Sourwine of Burlington, Iowa; six grandchildren, Mickey, James, Christina, Michael, Eric and Amber; and seven great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Xavier, Grace, Kayden, Madison, Savannah and Amiah. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Funeral services for Janet Marie Sourwine will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Prugh’s Chapel. Pastor Ryan Cosgrove will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral service.

Interment of ashes will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa, on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.

Sharon Ann Carlson, 69, of Williamsburg, Virginia, formerly of Burlington, died at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, Williamsburg, Virginia, on Monday, November 26, 2012.

Born on March 11, 1943 in Davenport, Iowa, she was the daughter of William E. and Nora Rose Dinneen Malone. She married Greg Carlson; they later divorced.

Sharon graduated from Mediapolis High School. She was a homemaker. Sharon also worked at J.S. Schramm Co. and was a store manager at Montgomery Ward for three years in Iowa City, Iowa. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her favorite hobby was gardening. She was of the Catholic faith.

 

She is survived by three sons, Zachary Carlson of Denver, Colorado; Alex Carlson of Lander, WY and Marty Carlson of Wausau, WI; two sisters, Kathryn Ingebritson  of Ft. Madison, Iowa and Patricia Malone of Burlington, Iowa; two brothers, Dennis Malone of Morning Sun, Iowa and William Malone of Goshen, Indiana; several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mary Rupsch and Regina Malone.

 

Memorial services for Sharon Ann Carlson will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Prugh’s Chapel, Burlington, Iowa. Father Marty Goetz will officiate. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa.
