3 dead after police standoff with Watts gunman
Los Angeles police say a gunman who opened fire on officers has killed two people and himself after a standoff at a Watts home where three small children were staying.
Authorities say the two-hour standoff began at around 3 a.m. Friday as a domestic dispute.
Deputy Chief Robert Green tells KABC-TV that the gunman fatally wounded a man in a truck, then fired at arriving police and holed up in a house.
Green says a SWAT team entered the home after about two hours and found the man and his wife dead. Three children were uninjured.
No officers were hurt.
The names of the victims haven’t been released.
