Obituaries Friday March 8th
Zachary James “Zac” Eden, 32, of Burlington, died in Burlington, Iowa, on Wednesday, March 6, 2013.
Born on March 18, 1980 in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of Darrell and Susan Marie Sorensen Eden.
Following graduation from Burlington High School, Zac received an Associate Degree in Engineering from Vatterott College in Des Moines, Iowa. He worked as an electrician apprentice and engineering technician. He was a strong believer in astro physics.
He is survived by his parents; one brother, Ben (Tamra) Eden of Burlington, Iowa; one nephew, Kolton; two nieces, Abbi and Gracie; maternal grandmother, Janet Sorensen of Burlington, Iowa; paternal step-grandmother, Nita Moon of Macomb, Illinios; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Corrine Eden; and maternal grandfather, Earl Sorensen.
No formal services are planned at this time. Cremation has been accorded.
Kathy Marie Kay, 51, of Burlington, died at 4:50 pm Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at her home in Burlington.
Born November 10, 1961, in Galesburg, IL, she was the daughter of Allen and Marianna Nesbit McOlgan.
Kathleen worked for many years at Maytag doing clerical work, and most recently working at Wal-Mart.
She was a graduate of Galesburg High School in 1979, and attended Northern Illinois University.
Her love was her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Jessica (Robbie) Sink of West Burlington; two grandchildren, Kara and Karson Sink; her mother, Marianna Seitz of Knoxville, IL; two brothers, Greg (Debbie) McOlgan of Springfield, IL, and Kevin McOlgan of Riverside, IL; one sister, Susan (Ted) Behrins of Galesburg, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and step-father, Don Seitz.
Visitation with the family to receive friends will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mrs. Kay will be 11:00 AM Sa turday, March 9, 2013, at Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Bettyanna Bremer officiating. Burial will be in Biggsville Cemetery at a later date. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Thielen Funeral Home following the service.
Cremation will be entrusted to Thielen Crematory.
A memorial has been established for her grandchildren’s education.
