Men’s College Hoops: Rutgers AD Out As Rice Video Scandal Continues

THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR AT RUTGERS UNIVERSITY WAS OUT OF A JOB FRIDAY MORNING AS THE AFTERMATH INTO A CONTROVERSIAL VIDEO CONTINUES…

MEDIA REPORTS FRIDAY MORNING SAID THAT TIM PERNETTI WAS NO LONGER ATHLETIC DIRECTOR AT RUTGERS, ALTHOUGH IT WAS UNCLEAR IF HE RESIGNED OR WAS FIRED. THE MOVE COMES AFTER A VIDEO WAS RELEASED EARLIER THIS WEEK SHOWING FORMER RUTGERS MEN’S BASKETBALL COACH MIKE RICE SHOVING PLAYERS AND THROWING BASKETBALLS AT THEM DURING PRACTICE. PERNETTI HAD SUSPENDED RICE EARLIER IN THE SEASON – WHEN THE VIDEO WAS STILL PRIVATE – BUT PUBLIC OUTRAGE FORCED THE SCHOOL TO FIRE RICE EARLIER THIS WEEK… AND NOW APPARENTLY PERNETTI IS OUT OF A JOB AS WELL.
