Tis the Season of Graduation at SCC
Pomp and Circumstance, the song that can make you smile and cry at the same time.
That’s what the Southeastern Community College of West Burlington graduates heard tonight as they walked into Burlington’s Memorial Auditorium. Mount Pleasant resident Steven Wilson was one of those graduates who took online courses to receive his business degree…
“Online is nice, especially in the business world because so much of the communication we have now is dealing with people you’ve never really met. You know, you’re talking through e-mails, conference calls, so it kind of models that online class experience anyway, so it works pretty good.”
Most students we talked to were happy about their experience at SCC. Emily Klopfenstein was one of them, and says the cost was also a reason she chose the school…
“That is part of the reason why I came to SCC. I got accepted to the University of Iowa and I just realized I didn’t want to pay that for the same thing I could get a job for.”
Emily had been going to SCC since 2007 and finally graduated with an IT Degree.
With all SCC’s campuses combined there were close to 75o graduates. Congratulations to all who graduated!
