Bees Community Basket Day/Local Track & Field Winners at State

THE BURLINGTON BEES CELEBRATED COMMUNITY BASKET DAY WITH A 6 TO 4 WIN OVER THE WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS, THE SECOND VICTORY IN TWO DAYS AGAINST THE SNAKES. 

 

PLAYING IN FRONT OF A CROWD OF NEARLY 14-HUNDRED, THE BEES HAD JUST SIX HITS, BUT TWO OF THEM WERE HOMERS, BY WADE HINKLE AND CHEVY CLARKE.  THE TWO TEAMS WILL PLAY AGAIN TONITE(MON) AT COMMUNITY FIELD AND YOU CAN HEAR IT ALL ON KBUR.  BY THE WAY, THE WINNER OF THE COMMUNITY BASKET GRAND PRIZE WAS STEVE RASHID OF FT. MADISON.

 

 

AND LOCAL WINNERS AT THE IOWA STATE TRACK & FIELD MEET IN DES MOINES WERE:

 

THE MT. PLEASANT BOYS AND GIRLS BOTH TOOK HOME TITLES IN THE 3A SHUTTLE HURDLE RELAYS.

 

WINFIELD-MT. UNION’S GIRLS WON THE 1A SHUTTLE HURDLE RELAY.

 

JEFF GIANNETTINO WON THE HIGH JUMP CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2A AT 6-9.

 

FORT MADISON’S RAHEEM BLACK REPEATED AS 400-METER HURDLES CHAMP IN 3A.

 

LESLIE TAYLOR OF MT. PLEASANT WON THE GIRLS 3A LONG JUMP FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW.

 

MT. PLEASANT’S EMMETT WEST TOOK THE SHOTPUT CROWN IN 3A.

 

ND-WB’S 4-BY-100 RELAY TEAM PLACED SECOND IN THE BOYS 2A COMPETITION.

 

 

ERIC HOLLANDER WON THE MENS DIVISION IN THE GREAT RIVER BRIDGE RACE SATURDAY AND CARIANNA GIBB WON THE WOMENS DIVISION.
