Use of Drones Likely to Highlight Obama NDU Speech

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is likely to talk about the need for greater transparency in U.S. drone strikes when he delivers a speech this afternoon at the National Defense University.

One administration official says responsibility for drone strikes has been shifting from the CIA to the U.S. military, giving Congress greater oversight of the secretive program.

Just yesterday, Obama revealed for the first time that since 2009, four American citizens have been killed in secretive drone strikes abroad. Three of those deaths had been known about before.
