Bees Take 4th in a Row/Girls H-S Soccer/Special Olympics

THE BURLINGTON BEES HAVE NOW WON FOUR STRAIGHT, THE FIRST TIME THAT’S HAPPENED THIS YEAR.

THE BEES STUNG THE PEORIA CHIEFS 5 TO 1 LAST(TUE) NITE AT COMMUNITY FIELD AND THE SECOND GAME WAS RAINED OUT.   THEY’LL TRY FOR ANOTHER DOUBLE-HEADER TONITE(WED) AT 5 AND YOU CAN HEAR IT ALL ON KBUR, BEGINNING WITH THE PRE-GAME SHOW AT 4:40.

 

 

IN GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER…TWO FRESHMEN, ELYSE HUBER AND PARIS WALLACE, SCORED ALL NINE GOALS AS BURLINGTON DOMINATED MT. PLEASANT 9 TO 1 IN THE CLASS 2A REGION-8 SEMIFINALS.   NORTH SCOTT SHUT OUT DAVENPORT NORTH 8 TO NOTHING, SO BHS WILL FACE NORTH SCOTT NEXT MONDAY NITE AT 6 IN ELDRIDGE FOR THE REGIONAL TITLE.

 

IN CLASS 1A…NOTRE DAME-WEST BURLINGTON BEAT COLUMBUS 3 TO 1 IN THE REGIONAL QUARTERFINALS.  THEY’LL TAKE ON IOWA CITY REGINA THIS FRIDAY AT 5 IN IOWA CITY, IN THE 1A REGION-8 SEMIFINALS.

 

 

IN GIRLS GOLF…NEW LONDON IS IN 5TH PLACE AFTER THE FIRST DAY OF THE STATE CLASS 1A TOURNAMENT…..MT. PLEASANT IS IN 7TH PLACE AFTER ONE ROUND IN CLASS 4A…..AND CENTRAL LEE’S ALEX KREHBIEL IS TIED FOR 13TH IN THE CLASS 3A INDIVIDUAL STANDINGS, WHILE KENSLEY HEATER OF MEDIAPOLIS IS TIED FOR 33RD

 

 

AND THE BURLINGTON SCHOOLS SPECIAL OLYMPICS TEAM BROUGHT HOME A NUMBER OF MEDALS FROM THE STATE TRACK & FIELD MEET IN AMES.   AMONG THE WINNERS WERE OLIVIA STEEMER, SECOND IN THE 50-METER DASH AND THIRD IN THE SOFTBALL THROW…..STEPHEN KECK, SECOND IN THE SOFTBALL THROW…..DYLAN ROOT, FIRST IN THE 50 AND 4TH IN THE SOFTBALL THROW…..PHILLIP HOUGHTON, 3RD IN THE 50-METERS AND 5TH IN THE SOFTBALL THROW…..DONDRE MARTIN, 3RD IN THE SOFTBALL TOSS AND 4TH IN THE 50…..TREVOR SCHADEL, SECOND IN THE 400 METER RUN AND 6TH IN THE STANDING LONG JUMP…..CHRIS WAGNER, SECOND IN THE 50…..SOPHIA CONRAD, 6TH IN THE 50 AND 4TH IN THE SOFTBALL THROW…..TROY HINESLY, SECOND IN THE SOFTBALL THROW AND 6TH IN THE 50…..ELI MAGNUSON, SECOND IN THE 100 METERS…..TONY WARTH, 4TH IN THE 100…..AND CHANTEL JONES, FIRST IN THE 50.
