Bees Lose Two/ND-WB Soph Competes at State Tennis

PEORIA TURNED THE TABLES ON THE BURLINGTON BEES LAST(WED) NITE AT COMMUNITY FIELD, WINNING BOTH ENDS OF A DOUBLE-HEADER FROM THE HOST TEAM, 6 TO 2 AND 3 TO 1. 

THE BEES HAD BEEN RIDING A 4-GAME WINNING STREAK GOING INTO THE FIRST GAME.   THE CHIEFS AND BEES WILL WRAP UP THEIR SERIES TONITE(THUR) AT 6:30 AND YOU CAN HEAR THE GAME ON KBUR, BEGINNING AT 6:10 WITH THE PRE-GAME SHOW.   TOMORROW(FRI), THE BEES HEAD TO CLINTON TO FACE THE LUMBERKINGS.

 

 

IN BOYS HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER…MT. PLEASANT TAKES ON STORM LAKE AT 2:45 IN THE CLASS 2A STATE TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINALS.

 

 

IN GIRLS TENNIS…THE IOWA STATE MEET BEGINS TODAY(THUR) IN ANKENY AND NOTRE DAME-WEST BURLINGTON SOPHOMORE STEPHANIE WILLS IS IN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE SINGLES COMPETITION AGAINST TOP SEED CAROLYN AHLERS OF LEMARS, WHO ENTERS THE TOURNAMENT AT 20 AND OH.

 

 

IN GIRLS GOLF…THE NEW LONDON TIGERS FINISHED 5TH AT THE STATE CLASS 1A TOURNAMENT IN MARSHALLTOWN.  EMMA PRY PLACED 19TH INDIVIDUALLY AND TEAMMATE JORGI KRIEGER WAS 20TH.   WINFIELD-MT. UNION’S GRACE EDWARDS CAME IN 32ND.

 

IN THE 4A COMPETITION…MT. PLEASANT PLACED 7TH.

 

 

IN HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL…THE WB-ND GIRLS BEAT BURLINGTON TWICE, 11 TO 1 AND 5 TO 3…AND THE FALCONS HAD SIX HOMERS IN THE DOUBLE-HEADER BY SIX DIFFERENT PLAYERS.
