FEMA Assistance in Oquawka
Governor Patt Quinn has approved $73-million for Illinois residents in 33 counties who were affected by the April floods.
Henderson county is one of them. Jeff Lox lives right outside of Oquawka and registered with FEMA for assistance today…
“My property was flooded by the Henderson Creek, not only in April, but just over this last weekend. Water in the basement both times, lots of moving in and out, lots of erosion, the driveway completely destroyed, the garage full of rock and gravel, numerous holes in the yard, and all the mud and sand that goes along with that.”
Lox is hoping that he at least gets assistance for the gravel he had to replace his driveway with, yet again.
Governor Patt Quinn also announced this afternoon that a total of $8,498 in Federal Aid has already gone to 4 people in Henderson County. The registration for assistance was today in Oquawka from 3-5 p.m. If you didn’t make it, you can still get help by going to disasterassistance.gov. This is available for homeowners, businesses, and even renters.
