For the first time this year, Illinois has seen it’s first batch of mosquitos with the West Nile virus.
Officials said today that the mosquitos were found in the Cook County community of Hillside.
Last year the virus was found in 55 of the state’s counties. 300 people contracted the virus and 12 died. Fortunately, no human cases have been found so far this year.
