Larry Burger, 79, of Montrose, died at 4:48 PM Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born June 30, 1933, in Lake Okoboji, IA, he was the son of Frank and Eunice Ward Burger.
He enjoyed gardening, music, and fishing.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Tweedy of Fort Madison, IA; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Burger, Angela Tweedy, and Mike Tweedy; four great-grandchildren, Eliot, Logan, Brian, and Mike; one brother, Paul Burger of Las Vegas, NV; one sister, Birdelle Candella of St. Charles, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Brian, and one grandson Billy.
Cremation has been entrusted to Thielen Crematory.
There will be no visitation or services.

Mrs. Madine Bee Howard, 79, of Clearwater, Kansas and formerly of New London, died Sunday, June 1, 2013 in Clearwater.
The funeral service for Mrs. Howard will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, June 10, 2013 at Elliott Chapel, New London. Mr. Blake Elliott and Mr. Jerry Teberg are celebrants. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 12:00 Monday morning with the family present. A luncheon will be held at New London VFW Post 7641 following interment. A memorial has been established.
