Bees Come Home, Lose to Kane County/H-S Baseball, Softball

THE BURLINGTON BEES LOST 8 TO 6 TO THE KANE COUNTY COUGARS LAST(WED) NITE AT COMMUNITY FIELD.

THE TWO MIDWEST LEAGUE TEAMS WILL FACE EACH OTHER AGAIN TONITE(THUR), BEGINNING AT 6:30…AND YOU CAN HEAR IT ALL ON KBUR, BEGINNING WITH BRANDON MARCUS’ PRE-GAME PROGRAM AT 6:10.

 

BY THE WAY, BEES PITCHERS RYAN CROWLEY…WHO’LL START TONITE…AND ALEX KEUDELL…HAVE BEEN NAMED TO THIS YEAR’S MIDWEST LEAGUE ALL-STAR TEAM.  THE GAME WILL BE PLAYED JUNE 18TH IN DAYTON, OHIO.

 

 

 

IN HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL…

BURLINGTON SPLIT A DOUBLE-HEADER AT IOWA CITY HIGH, LOSING 11 TO 1 IN SIX INNINGS…AND THEN WINNING 11 TO 4.

IN GIRLS SOFTBALL…

NEW LONDON EARNED THREE WINS TO TAKE HOME THE TITLE OF THE MT. PLEASANT CLASSIC ROUND-ROBIN TOURNAMENT.  THE LADY TIGERS BEAT COLUMBUS 6 TO 1…MORAVIA 8 TO 2…AND HOST MT. PLEASANT 5 TO 3.

AND THE WEST BURLINGTON-NOTRE DAME GIRLS ARE NOW RATED NUMBER-ONE IN THE STATE IN CLASS 3A.  THIS WEEK’S RANKINGS BY THE IOWA GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC UNION SHOW THE LADY FALCONS…CURRENTLY 10 AND OH…REPLACING MID-PRAIRIE IN THE TOP SPOT.  (THE GOLDEN HAWKS FELL TO NUMBER-2.)
