Head-On Collision in S.Lee County Injures Two
Two teens were seriously injured late yesterday morning when their car collided with a semi on Argyle Road in southern Lee County.
17-year-old driver Jacob McFarland of Keokuk had to be cut out of the car with the “Jaws of Life”, and he was airlifted to Blessing Hospital in Quincy. His passenger, 18-year-old Jessica Carnes, was taken to Keokuk Area Hospital and then transferred by “AIR-EVAC” to Blessing.
The semi driver, 30-year-old Justin Hudson of Ewing, Missouri, escaped injury.
Lee County Deputies say McFarland’s eastbound Dodge Stratus crossed the centerline and hit the truck head on. Authorities are investigating, and charges are pending.
