Two Fort Madison Collisions
The first accident was a 3 car collision that occurred at the intersection of Avenue H and 19th Street in Fort Madison earlier this afternoon.
54-year-old Jan Judd of Fort Madison was traveling west bound on Avenue H (Highway 61) when he was hit by 66-year-old Louis Briggs of Montrose who didn’t see Judd coming and pulled from the stop sign. The two collided, Judds vehicle was turned onto it’s side and was pushed into another vehicle driven by 42-year-old Debera McClurg of Fort Madison. No one was taken to the hospital. Louis was charged for failure to yield right away.
The second accident was a series of rear-ending on the 5200 block of Avenue O. 45-year-old James Echtel of West Point was stopped in traffic when 22-year-old Michael Pauley of Fort Madison rear-ended him. Pauley was then rear-ended by 24-year-old Tyler Jenkins of Fort Madison. Nobody was sent to the hospital with injuries. Pauley was cited for following too closely. Jenkins was also cited for following too closely and driving under suspension.
