Iowa Unemployment Rate Drops Again
Iowa’s unemployment rate has dropped to 4.6%.
This is the third consecutive drop. The current rate is down from 4.7% in April and 5.3% last May. Iowa’s unemployment rate is looking better than the U.S. unemployment rate, which just rose to 7.6%.
Director of Iowa Workforce Development, Teresa Wahlert said the Iowa job market picked up in May as businesses added more jobs than anticipated. She also said Iowa’s non-farm jobs grew by 5,300 in May- the largest monthly total reported so far this year.
