Neil Eugene Grim, 90 of Washington Iowa died Saturday June 29, 2013 in Halcyon House of Washington Iowa of a brief illness.
Mr. Grim was born on November 8th 1922 in Morning Sun Iowa. He was the son of James Russell and Dorothy (Thomas) Grim. He married Melba Lorraine Hall on April 17th 1943 in Cairo, Iowa. He graduated from Wapello High School in 1940. Neil was a lifetime farmer in the Louisa County area. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman having a sincere love of wildlife conservation. Neil Grim experienced Big Game hunting in the Pacific Northwest, Canada, Alaska and Africa. Neil will always be remembered for his speaking engagements at schools and various service organizations, where he shared these experiences with a slide presentation. Neil and his wife welcomed hundreds of visitors to their home in Louisa Center to view his numerous wild game trophies. Through the years, he and his wife enjoyed traveling to participate in The National Corn Husking Competition throughout the Midwest. He was a member of The Izaak Walton League and The NRA. Neil also cherished his time with family and friends playing Cribbage and Pitch.
Surviving are his wife, Melba of Washington, two sons Keith Grim and wife Patty of Oakville Iowa, Terry Neil Grim and wife Terry Kay of Wapello, and four daughters, Vickie Earnest and friend Ralph Honson of Bettendorf, Rita Johnson and husband Gary of Iowa City, Carla Belzer and husband Bill of Mt. Pleasant, and Debbie Grim of San Leandro, California, twelve grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and one sister Wanda Jean Pogemiller, and several of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Delbert, one grandson, and one great grandson, and one Son-in-law Robert Earnest.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday July 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello. Interment will follow in the Wapello Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. Tuesday with the family present.

David Alan Aamodt, age 60 of Mediapolis, died Saturday June 29, 2013 at GreatRiverMedicalCenter. The son of Carroll and Maynis (Larson) Aamodt, he was born January 19, 1953 at Albert Lea, Minnesota. On July 30, 1988 he married Peggy Lindeen in Burlington. He was a graduate of NorthwoodIowaHigh School and the University of Northern Iowa. He was a teacher, teaching in the MediapolisSchool for over 35 years. He was a coach and took over management of the Mediapolis swimming pool this year. He was an active member of the MediapolisFirstUnitedMethodistChurch. He led bible study and was worship leader. He loved to sing and provided music for many occasions.
Survivors include; his wife Peggy of Mediapolis; three sons, Ryan, Nate and Tyler all of Mediapolis; his Mother of Northwood, Iowa; two brothers, Craig of Steward, Illinois and Robert of Lake Mills, Iowa; one sister, Lora Aamodt of Austin, Minnesota;
He was preceded in death by his Father, an infant sister and a sister in law Linda.
The funeral service will be Wednesday July 3, 2013 at the MediapolisElementary School Gym at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Jeff Kodis, Rev. John Gaulke, and Wally Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in the KossuthCemetery.
Friends may call at the school gym on Tuesday from 4-7:00 p.m. where the family will be present .
Memorials have been established for the Mediapolis Community Theatre, Special Needs Foundation, and Mediapolis Youth Group.

Rick Robinson, 64, of Burlington, died at 4:36 pm Saturday, June 29, 2013, at his home.
Born November 19, 1948, in Burlington, he was the son of Clarence and Marguerite Gill Robinson.
Rick was a boilermaker welder for 24 years. He retired January 3, 2011.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War from December 13, 1966 until January 13, 1969.
He was of the Lutheran faith. He was an avid fisherman and had a love for the outdoors.
Survivors include his five sons, Shawn Robinson, and Shane Robinson, both of Seattle, WA, and Chad Robinson and Jeremy Robinson, both of Santa Fe, NM, and Jonathon Robinson of Burlington; his mother, Marguerite Robinson of West Burlington; one brother, Craig Robinson of Burlington; and one sister, Sandi Palmer of West Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence, and one sister, Carol Gorrell.
Cremation has been entrusted to Thielen Crematory.
There will be no visitation or services.
