Local Airports get Grants for Improvements
Some of our local airports will be getting financial help to make improvements.
Congressman Dave Lobesack announced more than $1.75 million for five airports in Iowa, 3 which are in our listening area. Mt. Pleasant will receive $203,515 to construct a new equipment building to house new snow removal equipment. Fort Madison has been granted $258,300 to reconstruct the deteriorated access road, and in Burlington, the Southeast Iowa Regional Airport will see $299,840 to acquire land for approaches. Lobesack says it’s important that the airports in our area have the tools necessary for Iowans to travel safely. These funds come from the US Department of Transportation.
