Quinn Gives Monmouth College Money
Three private colleges in this area are getting public money from the state of Illinois.
Governor Pat Quinn travelled to Augustana College in Rock Island yesterday to announce that $3-million from the “Illinois Jobs Capital Construction Program” will be divided up among Augustana, Knox, and Monmouth Colleges for various building renovation and improvement projects all three campuses are undertaking.
Quinn made a similar announcement at Bradley University yesterday. Not everyone is thrilled with Quinn’s work though. Jeff McKinley, a former Knox College student and Rock Island County State’s Attorney running for 71st District State Representative, said in a press release that Quinn’s visit amounted to “campaigning and showboating”.
