Mrs. Louise E. White, 92, of LaHarpe, IL passed away at 3:25 PM Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center in LaHarpe.
Louise was born the daughter of Harley and Fern Brunk Jones in Lancaster, MO on April 20, 1921. She was married to Leland “Mike” White on October 21, 1936. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1976.
Louise was a telephone operator in LaHarpe, worked in produce at Gene & Bev’s in LaHarpe, worked at the LaHarpe Carnegie Library, a fabric shop in LaHarpe and was a care giver for elderly ladies in the area. She also helped her husband in the Greenhouse they owned in LaHarpe. She was a member of the LaHarpe United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her two daughters, Donna (Carl) Reeder and Judy (Larry) Hobby both of LaHarpe, 6 grandchildren, Byron (Julie) Reeder of Independence, IA, Pamela (Jerry) Brown of LaHarpe, Mark (Faith) Reeder of Des Moines, IA, David (Susan) Hobby of LaHarpe, Mike (Tammy) Reeder of Ankeny, IA, Douglas (Tracy) Hobby of Nixa, MO, 15 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, one brother, Harley (Nancy) Jones of Davis City, MO.
She was preceded in death by her husband, 6 sisters, Pauline Jones, Pearl Duncan, Sybil Sloop, Betty Roderick, Carol Sheffler and Ruthie Peterson, 4 brothers, Darol, Harold, Tom and Bobby Jones.
Services will be held at 10:00AM Monday, August 12, 2013 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Jim Clayton officiating. Burial will be held in the LaHarpe Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:30PM Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00PM. Dianna Lynn Jones 51, of New London, died Friday, August 9, 2013 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Elliott Chapel, New London. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 9:00 AM on Tuesday at the chapel with the family greeting friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. A memorial has been established for Daniel’s education.
