Daniel L. “Danny” Johnson, 60 of Denmark, IA was pronounced dead at 10:40 AM, Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Fort Madison Community Hospital.
Born May 11, 1953, in Burlington, IA, he was a son of Lester and Velma Johnson. He married his wife of 42 years, Cecilia, at Harmony Bible Church in Danville IA.
Mr. Johnson made a successful career as a Certified Welder and later as a Certified Commodities Trader.
Although his labor of love was designing and crafting metal works, he also enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and wine making, of which he won several awards.
A devote family man, he treasured his time spent with family and friends discussing the Bible, politics, and other hobbies.
Survivors include his wife, Cecilia, of Denmark IA, two sons, one daughter, two grandchildren and numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and one beloved step-grandson.
As per Mr. Johnson’s wishes, a closed funeral service for immediate family was held on Friday, August 23, 2013 at Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Dingus officiating. Mr. Johnson was buried at a picturesque country cemetery in central Missouri.
Thielen Funeral Home and Crematory handled all arrangements.

Lloyd E. Harris, 84, Mount Union died Fri 8/23 at Winfield Terrace Care Center. He is survived by 2 daughters, Debra Marg of Neillsville, Wi and Connie Ross of Winfield, 2 sons, Andy of Ames and George of Mt. Union, 2 sisters, Wanda Smith of West Point and Mary Lou Oliver of Burlington.
Funeral Services will be held at 10Am Tue 8/27 at the Elliott Chapel in New London with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
Friends may call after 1PM Mon 8/26 at the Elliott Chapel with the family receiving friends from 5-7PM
