Fatal Crash in Lee Co.
Lee County deputies have released details of a fatal accident that happened Sunday night around 8 o’clock.
Killed in the single-vehicle rollover on County Road-103, northwest of Ft. Madison was the driver, 20-year-old Jonathan Selby of Mt. Pleasant. He was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown out of the vehicle when it began rolling. He was pronounced dead at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
One passenger, 33-year-old Christopher Hines of Des Moines, was also seriously injured and was flown to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics where his condition is not known. He too was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown out from the back seat.
A second passenger, 18-year-old Megan Gonzalez, who lived with Selby and was in the front seat, was wearing her belt and was not injured.
The State Patrol, Lee County E-M-S Ambulance, Air E-VAC, and West Point Fire and Rescue all assisted at the scene.
