You’ve probably seen the signs around town, but the Garrett Brockway 5K Run/Walk is next weekend.
Bruce Brockway, the father of 10-year-old Garrett who passed away earlier this year, encourages people to sign up now because the registration fee goes up $10 after Friday…
“Anything after Friday, we can’t guarantee a t-shirt because it’s just getting too close to the race. But to register you can either go to garrettspath.org or go to getmeregistered.com.”
The money raised will go to Garrett’s Foundation which helps raise organ donation awareness. Garrett’s pancreas recipient will also be at the 5K with her family next weekend…
“Garrett’s gifts have definitely helped enhance her life and help her recover from diabetes. I think it will be neat to have her there to tell her story. She’s a wonderful person, mother, and wife. We look forward to having them with us and giving them a chance to find out who Garrett was.”
The Race is next Saturday at 9am in Burlington’s Crapo Park.
