Arrests Mount in Wake of Chicago Park Shooting

CHICAGO (AP) — A fifth man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting at a Chicago park last week that wounded 13 people, including a 3-year-old boy.

A written statement released Saturday by the Police Department’s New Affairs Office says 22-year-old David Logan of Chicago was arrested Wednesday.

He is charged with unlawful use of a weapon without a Firearm Owner Identification card as well as obstructing justice.

Police spokesman Jose Estrada had no additional information to release on the suspect’s alleged role in the attack.

Logan was scheduled to appear in bond court Saturday afternoon.

Police have said the shooting was in retaliation for the wounding of a gang member by a rival. Several members of the other gang were wounded in the Sept. 19 shooting along with bystanders.
