City and VenuWorks Reach Tentative Deal

BURLINGTON CITY MANAGER JIM FERNEAU ANNOUNCED AT LAST(MON) NITE’S COUNCIL MEETING THAT A TENTATIVE AGREEMENT HAS BEEN REACHED AMONG THE CITY…VENU-WORKS…AND BURLINGTON STEAMBOAT DAYS.

VENU-WORKS IS BEING HIRED TO MANAGE MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM…THE PORT…AND THE PARKING AREAS ADJACENT TO BOTH.

 

ON ANOTHER FRONT, THE COUNCIL VOTED TO UPGRADE THE CITY HALL AND POLICE DEPARTMENT COMPUTER SERVERS. BPD CHIEF DOUG BEAIRD SAYS THE UPDATE WILL SOLVE A NUMBER OF PROBLEMS FOR HIS DEPARTMENT.   THE TOTAL COST OF THE HARDWARE…SOFTWARE…AND HIRING A CONSULTANT WILL BE JUST OVER 124-THOUSAND DOLLARS.
