Name Released of Man Killed on 96

The name of the man who was killed in a traffic accident yesterday afternoon on Illinois Highway 96 has been identified as 26-year-old Ryan Jenkins of Nauvoo, Illinois.

Jenkins hit the back of a trailer and combine head that was being pulled by a truck driven by 59-year-old Mark Turner of Nauvoo. Jenkin’s was killed when his truck spun around, crashed head-on into a grain truck, and caught fire. The grain truck was driven by 64-year-old Artchie Kirby of Warsaw, Illinois who was taken to the Fort Madison Community Hospital with serious injuries. Turner, who was pulling the trailer, was uninjured.
According to a press release, Jenkin’s was the only one not wearing a seat belt in the accident.
