S.Side Burlington Man Accused of Meth-Making

A BURLINGTON MAN ON PROBATION HAS NOW BEEN ACCUSED OF RUNNING A METH LAB IN HIS HOME.

32-YEAR OLD LORAN CHEELY OF 405 SOUTH 10TH STREET…APARTMENT-FIVE…RECEIVED AN EARLY-MORNING VISIT YESTERDAY(WEDS) FROM THE STATE CORRECTIONS DEPARTMENT’S HIGH-RISK UNIT, WHICH SPOTTED SOME METH-MAKING MATERIALS. THE SOUTHEAST IOWA NARCOTICS TASK FORCE GOT A SEARCH WARRANT AND REPORTED FINDING PACKAGING MATERIALS…PSEUDOEPHEDRINE TABLETS…LITHIUM BATTERIES…FILTER MATERIALS…GENERATORS…AND SO-CALLED “ONE POT” METH-COOKING DEVICES.

 

WHILE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAZ-MAT UNIT CLEANED UP THE SCENE, POLICE TOOK CHEELY INTO CUSTODY FOR VIOLATING HIS PROBATION. ONCE THE STATE CRIME LAB HAS TESTED WHAT AUTHORITIES FOUND, AND THE RESULTS ARE BACK, ADDITIONAL CHARGES WILL LIKELY BE FILED.
