No one was hurt but a home at 203 W. Jackson in New London was heavily damaged when it caught fire late yesterday (Thursday) morning.
The neighbors noticed flames coming from the roof and called the fire department. No one was home at the time of the fire. The cause of the blaze is still undetermined but authorities say it appeared to have started in a bathroom and they estimated $75,000 in damage. New London and Mt. Pleasant crews spent about an hour-and-a-half fighting the fire.
