Will the 5th Time Be the Charm for VenuWorks?

THE BURLINGTON CITY COUNCIL MEETS TOMORROW(MON) NITE AT 6:30 AND IS SCHEDULED TO VOTE ON AGREEMENTS WITH VENU-WORKS AND THE STEAMBOAT DAYS BOARD.

THE CONTRACT WITH VENU-WORKS WOULD BE TO MANAGE MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM AND THE PORT.   A PROPOSED DEAL WITH THE AMES-BASED COMPANY HAS BEEN TABLED FOUR TIMES IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS.  THE AGREEMENT WITH B-S-D WOULD BE BASED ON ITS BOARD’S DISCUSSIONS WITH VENU-WORKS, TO ALLOW THE LOCAL FESTIVAL INSTITUTION TO USE BOTH FACILITIES FOR EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

ALSO MEETING TOMORROW(MON) NITE IS THE WEST BURLINGTON SCHOOL BOARD…WHICH WILL DISCUSS THE POSSIBILITY OF YEAR-ROUND SCHOOL AND A NEW CALENDAR THAT WOULD BASE THE SCHOOL YEAR ON TOTAL HOURS, INSTEAD OF DAYS.
