THE RESULTS ARE IN AND THEY SHOW FLEMING WITH 1-THOUSAND-427 VOTES…FOLLOWED BY SCOTT, A FORMER MAYOR, WITH 1-THOUSAND-364…AND SHOCKLEY, WHO HAS NEVER HELD POLITICAL OFFICE BEFORE…WITH 1-THOUSAND-288. WITH A CITYWIDE TURNOUT OF 14.7 PERCENT, CURRENT MAYOR JIM DAVIDSON FINISHED FOURTH WITH 1-THOUSAND-243 VOTES…CURRENT COUNCILMAN CHRIS REED CAME IN 5TH WITH 964…AND FORMER COUNCIL MEMBER MIKE CAMPBELL PLACED SIXTH WITH 748 VOTES. THERE WERE 74 WRITE-INS.

IN WEST BURLINGTON, MAYOR HANS TROUSIL RAN UNOPPOSED AND GOT 156 VOTES…OR JUST UNDER 92 PERCENT…AND THERE WERE 14 WRITE-INS. FOR THE TWO OPEN COUNCIL SEATS, NEWCOMER DOUG ERVINE WAS THE TOP VOTE-GETTER WITH 127; HE’LL SUCCEED DAN WEST, WHO DIDN’T SEEK RE-ELECTION…AND INCUMBENT KARA STEWARD RECEIVED 119. GARY DEEN FINISHED OUT OF THE RUNNING WITH 86 VOTES AND THERE WERE SIX WRITE-INS. TURNOUT IN WEST BURLINGTON WAS EIGHT PERCENT.

IN DANVILLE, TRENT HENKELVIG RAN UNOPPOSED FOR MAYOR AND WON…WITH 41 VOTES. THERE WERE 13 WRITE-INS. FOR DANVILLE CITY COUNCIL, DOUG FRAISE WON WITH 42 VOTES AND KENTON COLE GOT THE MOST WRITE-INS FOR THE OTHER SEAT, WITH NINE. IN MEDIAPOLIS, CLARK KERR WITH 48 VOTES…GINA RIHERD WITH 47…AND CHUCK MASSNE WITH 44…WERE ELECTED TO THE CITY COUNCIL. AND IN MIDDLETOWN, THERE WERE NO CANDIDATES ON THE BALLOT FOR MAYOR, BUT ERIC GERST GOT 26-OF-THE-34 WRITE-INS…AND JASON GREEN WAS ELECTED TO THE MIDDLETOWN COUNCIL WITH 26 VOTES AND THERE WERE 35 WRITE-INS, 12 OF WHICH WENT TO ANTHONY FESLER FOR THE SECOND OPENING.

IN FT. MADISON, INCUMBENT MAYOR BRAD RANDOLPH HELD OFF CHALLENGER DONNA AMANDUS 1-THOUSAND-80 VOTES TO 603. INCUMBENT AT-LARGE COUNCILMAN NEAL BOEDING WAS RE-ELECTED, BEATING RUSTY ANDREWS 786 TO 644. THE VOTERS GAVE TONY FOUNTAIN 179 VOTES. IN THE SECOND WARD, INCUMBENT BRIAN WRIGHT DEFEATED BOB MORAWITZ 250 TO 185…AND JASON HUPPER RAN UNOPPOSED IN THE FOURTH. IN KEOKUK, INCUMBENT MAYOR TOM MARION EASILY DEFEATED MELANIE WELLS 1-THOUSAND-312 TO 571. IN WARD-ONE, MIKE O’CONNOR KEPT HIS SEAT, BEATING DUSTIN MASTERSON 138 TO 84. IN THE THIRD WARD, RON PAYNE WON RE-ELECTION OVER RICHARD MOORE AND DOUG KRUZICK 132 TO 91 TO 39. IN THE 5TH, INCUMBENT SANDY POLLITT OUTPOLLED BRIAN JOY 225 TO 156. IN WARD-7, SUSAN DUNEK RAN UNOPPOSED. IN KEOKUK’S AT-LARGE COMPETITION, DAN WINN WON 1-THOUSAND-264 TO 430 OVER CHRIS DAILEY.
