Geren Puts Service Member Suicide on Front Burner

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BURLINGTON AREA VETERANS COUNCIL DELIVERED A SOLEMN MESSAGE TO A MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM CROWD YESTERDAY(MON) —

THAT MORE THAN ONE ACTIVE SERVICE MEMBER A DAY IS COMMITTING SUICIDE. JOE GEREN SAYS THERE ARE MANY THINGS A FRIEND, NEIGHBOR OR FAMILY MEMBER CAN DO TO HELP…AND THE FIRST THING IS SOMETHING WE SHOULD ALL DO — THANK THE VETERAN FOR THEIR SERVICE.

GEREN REMINDED HIS AUDIENCE THAT NOT ALL VETERANS HAVE SEEN BATTLE…BUT THAT DOESN’T LESSEN THE IMPORTANCE OF THEIR SERVICE.

SIMILAR VETERANS DAY CEREMONIES WERE HELD ALL OVER THE COUNTRY YESTERDAY(MON).
