There’s only a couple weeks left before Thanksgiving is here, and Louisa County food pantries are still in desperate need of food.
One way to donate is an event at Murphy’s Grub and Pub this Friday night in Letts, Iowa. Stars and Bars band will be there performing at 7:30pm, followed by country music star Jake McVey at 9:30pm.
Organizer of the event Sandy Lang says not many have donated to the food pantries in Louisa County, but there have been a few, one in particular brought tears to her eyes…
“There was a little girl, she’s handicapped, and she about broke my heart. She picked up pop cans and brought them in. It was so special.”
The fundraiser will be held at Murphy’s Grub and Pub this Friday. There’s no cover, they’re just asking for a free will donation or nonperishable food items. Again, entertainment will begin at 7:30pm.
