Local Police Bust Robber, Burglars

BURLINGTON POLICE ARRESTED AN IOWA CITY MAN YESTERDAY(SAT) AFTERNOON AND CHARGED HIM WITH ROBBING THE RIVER-MART AT 21-07 AGENCY AROUND 2 PM.

 

THE CLERK SAYS THE STICKUP MAN DISPLAYED A WEAPON AND DEMANDED MONEY. AUTHORITIES CAUGHT UP WITH 22-YEAR OLD ARSENIO AMERSON AT 204 HAYES STREET AND TOOK HIM TO THE COUNTY JAIL, WHERE HIS BOND IS 10-THOUSAND DOLLARS.

 

CARTHAGE POLICE AND HANCOCK COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES STOPPED A VEHICLE CONTAINING TWO, 20-YEAR OLD LAHARPE MEN FRIDAY FOR AN EQUIPMENT VIOLATION…AND PROCEEDED TO FIND ALCOHOL, DRUG PARAPHERNALIA AND SOME PROPERTY THAT HAD BEEN REPORTED STOLEN FROM A LOCAL BUSINESS THAT HAD BEEN BROKEN INTO. IKE BYERS AND ANDY FINCH WERE CHARGED WITH BURGLARY AND TAKEN TO THE HANCOCK COUNTY JAIL. A JUDGE SET THEIR BONDS AT 50-THOUSAND DOLLARS EACH AND POLICE SAY ADDITIONAL CHARGES ARE PENDING.
