Former Burlington City Councilman and South Hill Neighborhood Association founder, Garry Thomas, died yesterday after an extended illness.
He was 56.
Thomas was a local businessman, pastor, and former high school and college basketball player. He was probably best known over the past few years as president and driving force behind the Neighborhood Association and it’s numerous projects and efforts to change the image of the south hill area.
Final arrangements are pending at Thielen Funeral Home in Burlington.
