Frigid Weather Prevails with Snow Possible

Iowans are dealing with some extremely cold weather conditions and can expect more of the same through the weekend.

National Weather Service meteorologist Craig Cogill says low temperatures will be well below zero in sections of northern Iowa and in the single digits elsewhere.   Iowans shouldn’t expect a significant warmup anytime too soon.
High temperatures through the weekend are expected in the teens and low 20s.

There’s also a chance of snow, statewide, beginning late tonight in western Iowa.   The lightest amounts will be in southeastern Iowa, with the heaviest amounts from west-central to northeast Iowa, where three to five inches are expected.
