It’s going to be extra cold at the Casey’s store in New London today.
New London and Mt. Pleasant firefighters were called out around 5:30 am to a ceiling fire in the convenience store at 710 S. Pine Street. It turns out the overhead furnace had somehow caught fire.
Crews spent about an hour on the scene and the Casey’s manager says no one was injured, although the heating unit is “toast.”
