VenuWorks to Seek Out New Acts and Old for Auditorium

THREE OF THE EXECUTIVES FROM VENU-WORKS…THE AMES-BASED MANAGEMENT COMPANY THAT’LL TAKE OVER OPERATION OF BURLINGTON’S MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM ON JANUARY FIRST…JOINED US FOR A “LIVE” INTERVIEW YESTERDAY(TUE).

VICE-PRESIDENT OF ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAMMING…ANDY LONG…SAYS NOT ONLY WILL THE NEW STAFF GO AFTER SO-CALLED “HERITAGE” EVENTS…LIKE CIVIC MUSIC AND “SNOWBULL”…THEY’LL SEEK OUT EVENTS THAT USED TO RENT THE AUDITORIUM BUT NO LONGER DO.

LONG SAYS BECAUSE THEY MANAGE A NUMBER OF OTHER FACILITIES AS WELL, THERE’S AN ECONOMY OF SCALE IN PLAY FOR VENU-WORKS; IN RETAIL TERMS, A VOLUME DISCOUNT.   AND LONG SAYS VENU-WORKS WILL BE HAPPY TO BOOK ACTS AT THE CAPITOL THEATER AS WELL, IF THE PERFORMERS NEED A SMALLER HOUSE TO PLAY TO.
