Cause of Late-Night Burlington Blaze Subject of Probe

THE BURLINGTON POLICE & FIRE DEPARTMENTS CONTINUE THEIR INVESTIGATION OF A LATE-FRIDAY-NITE HOUSE FIRE AT 11-05 SOUTH 10TH STREET.

NO ONE WAS HURT.   WHEN THE FIRST CREW ARRIVED…AROUND 10:20…THEY SAW LITE SMOKE COMING FROM THE SECOND FLOOR AND THEY KNOCKED DOWN THE FIRE…WHICH WAS CONTAINED TO A BEDROOM…IN ABOUT 20 MINUTES.   THE WOOD-FRAME HOUSE…OWNED BY LARRY CASTON…RENTED BY STEW AND MICHELLE SPINDLOW…AND “HOME” TO SIX OTHER PEOPLE…SUSTAINED ABOUT 10-THOUSAND DOLLARS DAMAGE TO ITS STRUCTURE AND 5-THOUSAND MORE TO THE CONTENTS. IT IS COVERED BY INSURANCE.

 

 

10 BURLINGTON FIREFIGHTERS WERE ASSISTED BY FOUR FROM WEST BURLINGTON. FIRE MARSHAL MARK CROOKS SAYS THE CAUSE OF THE BLAZE IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION.
