Garrett Brockway Featured in Rose Parade

It’s been a challenging, but rewarding year for one Burlington family.

Tiffini and Bruce Brockway lost their 10-year-old son Garrett in a tree accident earlier this year, and have been raising awareness of organ donation ever since. Because of their efforts and the lives Garrett saved through his donations, his photo will be one of 81 featured on the Donate Life Float in the Rose Parade in Pasadena California New Years Day.

The theme of the float this year is “Light Up the World with Organ Donation”, which makes Garrett’s Dad, Bruce Brockway, very happy…

“For Tiffini and I, that’s a very appropriate theme. You know, organ donation has brought such a bright light into our house. It’s brought us through some very dark times. So when we found out that would be the theme, it seemed very fitting.”

The Donate Life Float for years, has served as a memorial to those who have given the gift of organ donation. Brockway is one of 81 florographs that will be featured on the side of the float. If you’d like to watch the parade, commercial free, tune in to HGTV at around 9:58am New Years Day.
