Two 18-year-olds are back in court today (Monday @ 11am) in Galesburg after being arrested last week in connection with the fatal shooting of 15-year-old Javon Butler.
Brandon Kenny is being charged with four counts of First Degree Murder and one count of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, with a bail set at $1-million. The other teen, Alex Horton is charged with Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and Possession of a Weapon without a FOID Card. His bond is $250,000.
Kenny was assigned Public Defender Jim Harrell but said he’d be hiring a private counsel. Horton was assigned Public Defender Karl Johnson, but asked the judge why he was being charged as a felon, because he hasn’t been convicted as an adult.
