Frank D. Grasham, age 85, of Wapello, died Monday evening, January 6, 2014, at his home.  The son of Max D. and Cleda M. Moore Grasham, he was born on August 4, 1928 at Wapello.  He married Marilyn Liebbrand on June 25, 1950 in Muscatine.  She preceded him in death on April 1, 1968.  He married Idella D. Dukek Fletcher on September 27, 1969 in Muscatine.  She also preceded him in death on March 8, 1998.  He married Barbara J. Howell Johnson on September 5, 1998 in Clarinda.

Frank graduated from Wapello High School.  He served in the US Navy during WW II.  He worked for several years at IAAP in Middletown and then as a Union Pipefitter at Monsanto in Muscatine.  He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wapello and the Wapello VFW Glenn Allen Post 5166.  He enjoyed trapping, fishing, and billiards.

His family includes his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Carla McDowell of Hartville, Ohio and Lynne & Daryl Behrens of Muscatine; step-children, Tom Fletcher and Danny Fletcher both of Wapello, Connie Johnson of Riverside, Linda & Jeff Johnson of Sigourney, Randy Johnson of Columbus Junction, Billy & Sherry Johnson of Libertyville, and Joyce & Steve Hamilton of Lone Tree; two granddaughters; two great granddaughters; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Loretta & Kenneth ‘Bud’ Smith of Davenport and Marcia & Dave Valley of Racine, Wisconsin.  He was preceded in death by his parents and first and second spouses.

The funeral ceremony for Frank Grasham will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 10, 2014, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wapello with Rev. Dr. Chris Hinkle officiating.  Burial will follow at the Harrison Cemetery rural Wapello with military rites by the VFW Glenn Allen Post 5166.

Friends may call after 2:00 PM on Thursday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello where the family will meet friends from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.

A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Wapello Rescue Unit.

Mrs. Fern Oetken Helt, 95 of New London and Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, January 07, 2014 at the New London Nursing and Rehab Center.  Services are pending at Elliott Chapel, New London.

Glenn Heagle, 80, Burlington died Sunday 1/5 at his home.
