THE BURLINGTON CITY COUNCIL WILL MEET TWICE TODAY(MON)…ONCE BEHIND CLOSED DOORS TO DISCUSS STRATEGY WITH THE CITY ATTORNEY REGARDING AN UN-NAMED, POSSIBLE LAWSUIT

 

…AND A SECOND TIME FOR ITS EVERY-OTHER-MONDAY WORK SESSION, AT WHICH MEMBERS WILL HEAR THE ANNUAL AUDIT REPORT…LISTEN TO PRESENTATIONS BY THE RIVERFRONT ADVISORY COMMITTEE, FRIENDS OF THE DEPOT AND THE “COMPLETE STREETS” GROUP…TALK MORE ABOUT PROPOSED FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONSE FEES…AND DISCUSS NEXT YEAR’S PROPOSED BUDGET AND THE COMMUNICATION CENTER.

 

THE COUNCIL WILL ALSO CONSIDER SELLING OR LEASING THE FORMER RUAN BUILDING NEXT TO THE PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY. THE SPECIAL CLOSED MEETING BEGINS AT 4:30 AND WILL BE FOLLOWED BY THE WORK SESSION.
SOUTHEASTERN COMMUNITY COLLEGE’S TRUSTEES MEET TODAY(MON) AT 5 ON THE WEST BURLINGTON CAMPUS AND WILL VOTE ON THE PROPOSED MASTER BUILDING PLAN SCHOOL PRESIDENT MICHAEL ASH HAS LAID OUT.
AND THE BURLINGTON SCHOOL BOARD…MEETING TONITE(MON) AT 7…WILL CONSIDER 25 EARLY RETIREMENT APPLICATIONS…PLANS FOR A DISTRICT “EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION NITE”…HEAR AN UPDATE FROM SUPERINTENDENT JANE EVANS ON THE BUDGET(WHOSE GENERAL FUND SHE SAYS IS SHOWING AN ALARMING TREND)…AND GO INTO CLOSED SESSION TO DISCUSS THE SALE OF SOME REAL ESTATE.
