Obituaries Wednesday January 15th

Janet A. Sly    Age 63    of    Burlington died Monday January 13th  at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

3    Grandchildren    1    Great-Grandchildren
Family will receive friends    6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, January 16th, at Lunning Chapel
Funeral Service    10:30 a.m. Friday, January 17th, at Lunning Chapel
Burial will be in the Long Creek Cemetery, rural Danville.

H. Darlene Dean, age 89 of Morning Sun, died Tuesday January 14, 2014 at the MorningSunCareCenter.  The daughter of George and Lulu (Wolverton) Bryant, she was born February 10, 1924 at Morning Sun.  On November 14, 1941 she married Floyd “Peck” Dean at Canton, MO.  She was a graduate of the MorningSunHigh School.  She was a lifelong member of the MorningSunUnitedMethodistChurch.  She was a homemaker.

 

Survivors include:  her husband of Morning Sun; two sons, Ralph Dean of Morning Sun;  Lonnie Dean of Brighton, CO; two daughters, Trudy Hopkins of Ottumwa; Georgeanne Robinson of Keosauqua; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren;

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and four sisters.

 

Cremation has been accorded and there will be no visitation.

 

The memorial service will be Saturday January 18, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the MorningSunUnitedMethodistChurch.  Interment will follow at the ElmwoodCemetery.  A general memorial has been established in her name.  Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun is in charge of the arrangments.
