  • Michael Loyal Butler, age 51 of Mediapolis, died Saturday  February 1, 2014  at Burlington.  The son of Marion and Joyce (Charbonneaux) Butler, he was born May 31, 1962 at Burlington.  He was a 1980 graduate of the MediapolisHigh School.  He was a self employed paint contractor.  He enjoyed gardening, decorating for holidays, outdoor activities and traveling.  He was an avid Pittsburg Steeler and Alabama fan.

 

Survivors include:  his mother Joyce of Mediapolis; one daughter Danielle Lacey of Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister Tana Butler and Tim Bollinger of Chicago;  grandmother Joy Charbonneaux of Burlington.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, his Father, and daughter Amber Arnold.

 

Cremation has been accorded. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7:00 p.m. at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis.  A memorial service will be Friday February 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home.  A general memorial has been established in his name.

Harold L. Boulton, age 88, of Wapello, died at his home Monday, February 03, 2014.  The son of George C. and Pearl Louise Adamson Boulton, he was born on June 22, 1925 in Wapello.  He married Grace Elizabeth Clark on June 23, 1949 in Ames.  She preceded him in death on June 25, 1988.  Harold married Billie Virginia Dameron Stephens on August 5, 1995 in Grandview.  She also preceded him in death on January 2, 2014.

Harold graduated from Wapello High School and Iowa State University in Ames.  He served in the US Army during WW II with the 3rd Armored Division in Europe.  He worked in Agricultural Education with the Extension Service, Electric Coop, and FHA.  He was a member of the Grandview Community Bible Church in Grandview and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and the Lions Club.

His family includes children, Barbara (David) Clark of Monmouth, Illinois, Bonnie Britten of Seattle, Washington, Robert (Peg) Boulton of Osage Beach, Missouri, and Marjorie (Dan) Flowers of Des Moines; “bonus children”, Mike, Scott, and Lynn Stephens, and Cheri Snyder; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; 19 step great grandchildren; and a sister, Letha (Dean) McCulley of Columbus Junction.  He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives, Betty and Billie; a son, David; a son-in-law, Kent Britten; and a sister, Hilda Taylor.

There will be a luncheon gathering for family and friends to visit beginning at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at the Grandview Community Bible Church Friendship Center until the 12:30 PM funeral ceremony at the Grandview Community Bible Church with Rev. Darryl Erickson officiating.  Burial will follow at the Columbus City Cemetery with military rites.

A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the Grandview Community Bible Church and the Wapello VFW Glenn Allen Post 5166.
